Back acne: How many times a day should I shower?

I never get any body acne really, just a real biggy once in a while. It's pretty damn annoying since the mark stays a while due to my skin being so fair. Right now I'm using 10% PanOxyl (Benzoyl Peroxide) shower bar in the shower once a day, then treating the areas with 10% PanOxyl gel. Should I increase it to twice a day?

Also, what the hell are these pimples that I get once in a while? They never have a white head.. it's like it's under the skin and its usually red/inflammed. Is it like an ingrown hair or something? Because I know I've been growing a lot of hair on my back and upper arms lately. No, I don't shave my back or anything.

I would say twice a day would be good. Once in the morning and once at night and then apply medication in between.

it might be a bister or a wort if u live in the tropics yiu get sweaty then relax in ccold air before you shower and thenit gets in your pours and creats a wart blistery thing

if you over wash then your oil glands will produce too much oil, resulting in more acne. once a day is enough.

dont start showering twice a day and using that stuff .. its bad for your skin to do that. i know who woulda thought.

and everyone gets the inflammed zits, its not an ingrown hair, they're zits. pimples/zits don't always need a white head ya know :P

i used to have really bad back acne but the doctor prescribes a soap that i use in the shower it has sulfur in it and that helps to dry up the acne

suggestion: just go to the dermatologist he'll know what to do better

you should shower every day and use special creams for it i recommend the ST.IVES acne cream you can get it at any local wal-mart

When I was a teenager I had bumps like that on my back. Probably you could see a dermatolgist for medicine. Maybe it is your hair conditioner or your diet or just homones. Drink more water and that might help.

pimples dont always go into white head I have had some that don't go into white head b4 I just shower one a day and don't get any acne on my body now my face on the other hand I wash when I wake up and when I go to bed and I still get some every once in a while some ppl I know who tend to get a lot of acne wash their face every time they come home and right b4 they leave the house and say that helps but i doubt u are gunna shower that much lol cuz wash your back get a back brush your problem is u cant reach your back very well and the spots you can reach are hard to wash well so get one of those brushes with a long handle that should help.

Well, you could definitly try to shower twice a day even though, it will not reduce the acne but, it will definitly soothe it.As long as PanOxyl seems to be helping you then I would continue to use it.Pimples are natural..I am not sure if it is an ingrown hair but, I doubt it.If you touch or scratch your pinples alot then they do probably have white heads on them I would just leave those alone.

okay so one reason you could be having this problem is because of the shampoo and conditioner that you use running down your back and not getting properly washed off, so it clogs your pores. Another reason could be genetic. Or just plain hormones. Try scrubbing your back with something to make sure you got all the shampoo off. Besides you should be showering once a day everyday. (you don't have to wash your hair that often thought...it will damage your hair) Just don't sweat it either...it's not like your the only one who gets it!

I used to take two showers a day, and wash my my face. I had acne on my upper cheeks, after my daughter was born and it grossed me out. It lasted until my mid-late 20's.

I would try Pro-Active, my daughter and niece have had good results.
