Ingrown hairs and spots after bikini wax - help!?

Every time I get a bikini wax, I get unsightly red spots afterwards, some of them look a bit raised and even pus-filled - am really annoyed cos I want to have it waxed but if it looks this bad afterwards, what's the point?!! Can anyone help? Is there something I can do to prevent it or get rid of it, or is it the fault of the waxer (ie she was not gentle enough?) Many thanks for any advice!!

Your waxer should've told you that EXFOLIATION is the key to a good bikini or brazillian wax. As the hair grows back in, they get trapped under dry or dead skin, which causes an infection in the follicle (root). That's why you get the pus. Get a good pair of exfoliating gloves, and then beginning a DAY after getting the wax job, exfoliate in the shower using Anti-Bacterial soap like Satin or Dial Gold. That helps get rid of the bacteria, sloughs away the dead skin that can trap hair growing back in, and leaves your wax job beautiful!! Make sure to moisturize with a scentless lotion afterwards to keep dry skin away.

I would consider switching waxers. If this happens every time and she doesn't tell you how to fix it or how to properly take care of your wax job afterwards, she's probably not worth going to. Any good esthetician will tell you exactly how to keep your skin from getting this way!

Laser hair removal could help . After the laser service you won't need to worry about getting waxed.

you need to exfoliate using a hand mitt (like a glove)every time you shower. also you may be wearing synthetic underwear which doesnt allow your skin to breathe..switch to cotton.you may try buying a medicated talc and dusting some of that in your pants after you shower or just as you dress. also, some professionals arent that good! I had several that waxed along the top side ways! which is nuts as the hair doesnt grow side ways so they messed up my follicles! I now wax myself and would recommend you do this personally. I only recommend hot wax..the kind that doesnt use strips on the bikini area.

I recommend that you get an anti-biotic ointment for the area that has infected pores and dont put (sorry 'normal' )body lotion ever on the skin here. - a non oil based kind only.

the advice I have given you will help a lot if you follow it but it will take a while for your follicles to sort themselves out and you may still get some ingrown but you wont have it nearly as bad as you do now.
